Wellesley

Wellesley Public School opened in 1874 and was located on the northeast corner of Bay and Wellesley Streets.  After World War I, downtown Toronto bacame less residential as people moved to the burgeoning suburbs and a school for physically handicapped children was established in part of the building.  Wellesley closed in 1956 and after housing the Ontario Water Resources Commission, it was demolished in the mid-1960s to make way for the Sutton Place Hotel, now The Britt condo building.

The World War II Honour Roll is located in the TDSB Archives.  The location of the World War I memorial is unknown.
